We all love Coleslaw. We all love Pasta Salads. The idea of putting them together in a Coleslaw Pasta Salad should have been obvious, but it took our friends from Down Under to clue us in on this delicious recipe. And we thank them.
Coleslaw Pasta Salad
Sometime the ideas that should be the most obvious are the last ones we think of.
Okay, so maybe you have thought of Coleslaw Pasta Salad or seen a recipe. Maybe you’ve even made it for a party. But for some reason we had never thought of combine two of our Southern Party favorites before we saw the recipe in, of all places, a cooking magazine from Australia.
Our friends Down Under do know a thing or two about having a good time and eating outside, so we are not surprised they came up with this wonderful combination and delicious recipe.
We are just surprised we didn’t.

Coleslaw Pasta Salad Recipe
Materials
- 6 ounces dried Spiral (Rotini) Pasta
- 3 cups shredded Green Cabbage
- 1 Red Bell Pepper seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 Red Green Pepper seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 medium Onion halved and thinly sliced
- 1 Carrot cut into thin matchsticks
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise, or more, as needed or desired
- 2 tablespoons Wholegrain Mustard
- 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
- Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse under cold water. Drain again.
- Place pasta into a large mixing bowl.
- Add cabbage, prepared peppers, onion and carrot. Toss gently to mix. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, mustard and vinegar.
- Add mayonnaise mixture to pasta mixture. Toss gently, but well, to combine.
- Taste. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
- Store in a tightly covered container, in the refrigerator, until ready to serve.
